Planting Guide:
Native perennials are best planted in the fall or early spring. Fall planting promotes root growth before top growth. Your plant will go dormant during the winter months and will remerge strong and ready for spring! Spring planting will benefit the plant with a lot of moisture and light, as well as amazing top growth as summer comes. You do not need to fertilize your plant, or add amendments. Mulch with a light layer around the base just after planting to help conserve moisture and keep weeds at bay the first year.
12 inch spacing on center is a good average for native plants. Planting densely creates an underground root matrix that can help keep weed away. Water plants right after you install and a few times over the next few weeks if it is not rainy. Use your plant label from the pot in the ground where you plant to mark location. It can take a year or two for your plant to reach its full size and bloom.
